Michael currently serves as the Managing Director, People and Culture at the MacArthur Foundation, and is responsible for MacArthur’s strategic efforts to design, implement and manage innovative human resources practices and initiatives that attract, develop, support and retain an engaged, high-performing, diverse staff in a culture of continuous learning and development. With over 20 years of broad human resources experience and expertise across multiple sectors, he possesses a history of successfully linking innovative and agile people practices to business objectives; a clear vision for strategies relating to engagement, communication, culture, and best-in-class status; a strong understanding of a global workforce; extensive experience in DEI work, performance management, learning and development, compensation, benefits, recruitment and employee relations; and the ability to combine high-level strategy and leadership with hands-on implementation.

Michael was previously the Head of Human Resources for the global financial services firm ABN AMRO Clearing LLC, where he established and led the Human Resources function for the firm’s US offices. Prior to that, he served as Vice President, Human Resources, for Fortis Clearing Americas, LLC, and Human Resources Business Partner at Calyon Financial, Inc. Before that, he held Specialist and Generalist roles in the Financial Services, Marketing and Pharmaceutical sectors. In addition to his Board role at Achieve Mission, he serves on the Board of Felines & Canines in Chicago, IL.  Michael holds a BA in Psychology from Wheaton College.
